It all started in 1948 with the vision of our founder Don Warren.
As a young scoutmaster, Warren brought Troop 111 up from a local Chicago Boy Scout unit to what has become a legendary force in the drum corps activity.
The concept was simple.
Create a positive environment to keep the troop together, so that a group of friends from the streets of the Windy City could become part of something greater...something special in which they could all take pride.
20 national championships later, including seven Drum Corps International (DCI) World Championships since 1992, The Cavaliers continue to deliver on our mission of creating leaders through the performing arts. We do this by providing an unmatched, life-changing educational experience for the students who come through our programs.
The positive experience only comes to life with your support.
From our humble beginnings as a Boy Scout troop 68 years ago, volunteerism and charitable giving have been nothing short of critical to what we do each year, each month...each day.
By contributing financial gifts or your time to The Cavaliers, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, you have a hand in shaping the lives of young people for the better.
